In emergency situations where it is not possible to visit your orthodontist, you may need to solve some orthodontic problems by yourself. The following section provides suggestions on how to deal with some of these problems.
  • Toothache after your braces are attached
  • Irritation of lips and cheeks
  • Rubber ligatures coming out of brackets while eating sticky foods
  • Breaking of brackets while exercising or eating a hard meal
  • Extending wire

Other orthodontic emergencies and measures include;
  • Storage of movable apparatus and plaques
  • Removing the movable apparatus or protective plaque while eating
  • Removing the headgear

Toothache after your braces are attached;

One of the most common problems after your brackets are attached is toothache on the first days. This makes it even more difficult for you to eat. You can overcome this period more easily by consuming soft and juicy foods. You can take a painkiller that is good for you, just like you take when you have a headache.
